This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW still stands as a nightmare for most of the WWE Universe. The WWE Universe couldn’t believe the mishap that happened on RAW and neither could the Superstars involved in the matchup which is also being termed as “accident” by some fans.
Dolph Ziggler showed up to answer Seth Rollins Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge. Little did Rollins know what the night had in store for him.

Ziggler was accompanied by Drew McIntyre who stood by his corner throughout the match. In the final moments of the bout, Rollins was distracted by McIntyre. Ziggler immediately took advantage of it and rolled his opponent for a quick pinfall. The Kingslayer broke out of it and roll-up Ziggler for a 2-count. Ziggler reversed it, rolled-up Rollins and pinned him clean 1, 2, 3. Post-match, Ziggler and McIntyre assaulted a devastated Rollins and laid waste to the former champion with their finishing combo (ZigZag & Claymore Kick combo).
Dolph Ziggler is the new Intercontinental Champion. Ziggler last held the title from 2015—2016 and is currently on his sixth reign.
In a backstage segment, Renee Young interviewed Rollins where the former Intercontinental Champion declared to invoke his rematch clause next week on RAW and also said “Drew’s a problem”.
It is speculated that this storyline will lead to Rollins vs. Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Extreme Rules. 2-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose is expected to be back soon and could help his Shield brother even the odds in time for SummerSlam. Right now, the number’s game is heavy on Rollins. McIntyre is in the best shape of his life and stands as one of the lethal Superstars in the Locker Room.
However, Ambrose’s return all depends on whether WWE clears him and the way this angle is playing out, it is evident that Rollins needs to join forces with someone. Roman Reigns could also be one to come to the aid of Rollins. A showdown between Reigns and McIntyre in this storyline would prove to be a treat for the WWE Universe.
