It’s hard to think back to a time where Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins weren’t feuding over the Intercontinental Championship, but the new era in WWE rolls on and it appears that Rollins could be denied his rematch for the title that he lost earlier this month at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Rollins and Ambrose won the Raw Tag Team Championships together back in October, but on that very same night, just minutes after their victory Ambrose stuck the knife in his friends back as he made a statement about how he didn’t need to depend on anyone but himself moving forward.

Ambrose then took to attacking Rollins from behind for a number of weeks, before it was announced that The Lunatic Fringe and The Architect would re-ignite their rivalry at TLC over the Intercontinental Championship.

In recent weeks, Rollins’ focus has switched over to Baron Corbin, which could be why WWE Apollo Crews won a Number One Contenders Battle Royal on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden to become the next challenger for Ambrose’s title.

It wasn’t disclosed when this match will actually take place, but it is expected to be next week on Raw, a show that will be taped tonight, since the show is originally supposed to go out live on New Year’s Eve and SmackDown Live will be broadcast on New Years Day.

This means that spoilers will be on hand from tonight and Apollo Crews could be given his shot at Dean Ambrose which would be the perfect time for Seth Rollins to swoop in and start up the feud between himself and Ambrose which will then lead the pair into WrestleMania season.
