Former RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax has revealed her dream opponent for WWE’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, Evolution.
Jax had earlier named Japanese professional wrestling legend Bull Nakano as the only woman she would love to get in the ring with the most.
Nakano, who is also a professional golfer is now 50, and has been away from the ring since 1997. With the reality in mind, Jax has now decided to settle her mind on a more realistic and possible opponent for Evolution.
Recently on the Sky Sports Lock Up podcast, Jax named 3-time Women’s Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix as her dream opponent for Evolution.
“If we are bringing back competitors from the past, I would love to get in the ring with Beth Phoenix,” Jax said.
“I would love for Beth to team up with Nattie (Natalya Neidhart) and face me and my cousin Tamina, I think that would be a fun match.”
Phoenix is already slated to be a part of the commentary team for the Mae Young Classic alongside Michael Cole and Renee Young. Beth will also appear at Evolution, although her role for the event is unknown at this point.
The Hall of Famer made her in-ring return at the Women’s Royal Rumble match in January as she entered the match at #24. Phoenix had a brief confrontation with Jax in that match as both women exchanged blows and Phoenix lifted Jax on her shoulders.
Two matches featuring current Superstar vs. returning legend have been confirmed for Evolution. Alexa Bliss will go 1-on-1 with Trish Stratus while Lita will lock horns with Mickie James who happens to be an ally of RAW’s Goddess on WWE TV.
WWE Evolution takes place on October 28, 2018 from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York. The show will feature over 50 female Superstars from the current RAW, SmackDown and NXT roster including women from the WWE’s glorious past.
The RAW Women’s Championship, SmackDown Women’s Championship, NXT Women’s Championship and WWE UK Women’s Championship will be defended at the event. Evolution will also host the finals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament.
