16-time World Champion John Cena and 2-time WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella shocked the entire world when they broke-up last April, ending their 6-year long relationship.
According to media reports, Bella broke up with Cena because of the latter’s unwillingness to have children.
However, the former Divas Champion gunned down such reports claiming she called off their wedding as she had cold feet ahead of the special occasion that was scheduled to take place on May 5 in Mexico.
Nikki now claims that she still shares an “amazing connection” with her ex-fiancé and both of them are good friends.
Bella revealed to E! News:
”I think it’s when you have an amazing connection with someone and you just stay friends.”
Cena and Bella got engaged last year at WrestleMania 33 after defeating The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match. The segment took place in the middle of the ring.
The Bella Twins returned to in-ring action on RAW last week against The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan). Nikki defeated Ruby Riott in singles competition this week.
According to recent rumours, Nikki will challenge RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey on October 28 at WWE’s first ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, Evolution.
Cena’s last WWE TV appearance was in April at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. The Leader of Cenation defeated 14-time World Champion Triple H at the event.
The Champ returned for a Six Man Tag Team Match at a WWE Live Event in Shanghai on September 1 where he unveiled his sixth Move of Doom: The Lightning Fist.
Cena’s next match will take place on October 6, 2018 at WWE Super Show-Down where he will be teaming up with Bobby Lashley to take on Kevin Owens and Elias in tag team action. The show will emanate from the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia in front of 70,000 fans.
Nikki isn’t booked for Hell in a Cell on September 16. Her twin sister Brie will join forces with her husband Daniel Bryan to clash against The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match.
