John Cena made headlines by appearing on NBC Network’ “TODAY With Kathie Lee and Hoda” where he opened up for the first time on TV regarding his split from his ex-fiancée, Nikki Bella and made it clear that he is still in love with the longest individual reigning WWE Divas Champion.
Nikki Bella appeared with her twin sister and WWE Superstar Brie Bella at the NBCUniversal Upfront Presentation at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on the same morning and engaged in an interview with Extra TV’s AJ Calloway. Nikki acted like she didn’t know about Cena’s comments when asked.
“Wow. Well, I’m speechless,” Nikki nervously laughed and reacted upon hearing some of Cena’s comments. “Um, yeah, that’s crazy. Yeah.”
The Bella Twins also talked about the upcoming season of Total Bellas adding that fans will get to see Daniel Bryan’s amazing comeback, the wedding planning including the breakup.
Nikki said, “I have hope. I’m at a point in my life where I kind of lost me and I want to find me and work on me. I just want John and I both to live happily ever after whether it’s together or separate and I just don’t want us to go down the road in life and have regrets of like ‘I did this for you’ or ‘you did this for me,’ so I think it’s okay in relationships to take that moment. The day I say my vows, I want to say them once and I want to fully mean them, and so that’s what made me hesitant — am I ready to say these vows?”
The longest reigning individual WWE Divas Champion was also caught up by E! News and the former champion revealed that Cena is the love of her life and that she is lucky to have spent the 6 years with him.
“There are some of us we hope in the end it can work out and I just think the most important part is, you want to make sure you live the rest of your life happy,” Nikki said. “You don’t want people to force things or have to change themselves so much. So those are the things we’re just stepping away and seeing what we both really want out of life and when we come back together we will make us happy for the rest of our lives. We both don’t want to live in regret, so we’re being very mature, which is great. So we’ll see.”
