RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey successfully retained her title against Nikki Bella via submission, last night at Evolution. Rousey locked Bella in the arm-bar causing her opponent to tap out.
WWE’s inaugural all women’s pay-per-view event took place last night from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, East Garden City, New York.
The historic show saw several WWE Hall of Famers namely Trish Stratus, Lita, Michelle McCool, Molly Holly, Kelly Kelly, Torrie Wilson, Alundra Blayze and Ivory back in action.
Nikki and Ronda had been hyping their match at Evolution for the past few weeks both on TV and social media. The build-up was pretty intense with the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion going raw on the mic against The Bella Twins.
Following her loss to The Baddest Woman On The Planet, Bella was interviewed backstage at the Coliseum and the former 2-time WWE Divas Champion teased taking a break from WWE.
On being asked how she was feeling after the match, Bella said, “Not great.”
Nikki continued, “I’m defeated and I just feel like the Divas era is officially over. I’m done but you know what, with Ronda, it’s not over and when I come back here, I’m gonna be a brand new woman that every woman in this women’s division will need to fear.”
The Bella Twins returned to WWE at SummerSlam in August when Rousey captured the RAW Women’s Championship from Alexa Bliss. After enjoying a successful alliance, Nikki and Brie turned on Rousey a couple of weeks later to kickoff their feud.
Nikki has had issues with her neck in the past and at present her hands are full with projects outside WWE, thus making it clear as to why she isn’t wrestling full-time in the company.
