Nikki Bella has had to retire from in-ring competition due to a brain cyst and a herniated disk, but, if doctors hadn’t been against it she would have loved to be part of the WWE’s Women’s Tag Team Division.
“I’m bummed,” said to TMZ Sports. “Brie and I really wanted to go back for the tag titles and be a part of the women’s tag team division. It’s such a cool time for women in WWE, but unfortunately because of my neck, and then they found a cyst on my brain, which thank God it’s benign.”
When TMZ pressed her about a possible in-ring return, she reiterated that she was retired but “believed in miracles.”
“We’ll see what the man upstairs has in store for me,” said Bella.
“It’s super scary,” she said about her health issues. “But I’m so grateful and grateful for my health, grateful that it’s benign. It’s something that you have to watch out for the rest of your life because you never know how it could change, but I’m definitely grateful because I know people go through worse.”
She advised people that they should trust their gut when something doesn’t feel right and get checked out by their doctors.
Bella is a two-time Divas Champion and the longest reigning Divas Champion in history. Though she often shared the ring with her twin sister Brie, there were no tag team titles for women when the Bella Twins were active. Brie has also retired from in-ring competition, but the two twins are still part of the reality shows Total Divas and Total Bellas.
