NXT tapings leading up to Takeover: Phoenix next year took place last night and coming out of the show there are a number of interesting spoilers, but the only match that has been officially announced for the Takeover event ahead of The Royal Rumble is the Women’s Championship match between Shayna Baszler and Bianca Belair.

Remember, Belair is yet to be defeated on NXT which means that she will be putting her undefeated streak on the line against Baszler, who has recently been relying on the assistance of Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir who could also come into play in Phoenix.

Belair has been waiting in the wings for General Manager William Regal to give her a shot at the Women’s Championship for the past few months, but at the most recent batch of tapings, she was able to earn the right to face the Champion herself.

Bianca is one of the most talented female wrestlers in the company and many stars in the company have already commented on the fact that she has a very bright future ahead of her and finally she could be about to pick up her first piece of gold as part of the developmental division.

Baszler was recently part of a feud with Kairi Sane, which spiraled into a six-woman tag team match, but it appears that the Mae Young Classic finalists have now moved on and the former MMA star will be forced to defend her Championship against one of her hardest rivals.

Takeover: Phoenix takes place on Saturday, January 26th live from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, AZ and will see a number of interesting matchups that are yet to be revealed, since NXT usually try to steal the show ahead of the main roster’s first pay-per-view of the year.
