NXT Superstar Wants a Triple Threat Match With Dolph Ziggler and Goldberg at Summerslam

Ziggler is currently advertised to face The Miz at Summerslam

We are one week away from the Biggest Party of the Summer in WWE, and every superstar on WWE roster wants to make a mark at the biggest WWE PPV after WrestleMania. NXT Superstar and former UFC fighter, Matt Riddle, wants to take part in a Triple Threat Match at Summerslam with Dolph Ziggler and Goldberg. He shared his intentions through an Instagram post, in which he spoiled the matchup between Ziggler and Goldberg.

Matt Riddle has called out Goldberg and his wrestling abilities on several occasions in the past. After the train-wreck encounter between Goldberg and Undertaker at WWE’s Saudi Arabia event in June, Riddle ripped into Goldberg and called him the worst wrestler ever.

Riddle posted a video on Twitter after the match between Goldberg and Undertaker and said, “Goldberg, you lived up to the hype again. You’re absolutely the worst wrestler in the business, bro. That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact.”

Dolph Ziggler has recently called out Goldberg for his subpar wrestling abilities and this led to speculation about a match between the two at Summerslam. Although it hasn’t been officially announced, Goldberg and Ziggler are set to go head-to-head at Summerslam, in one of the weirdest match-ups of all time.

Matt Riddle has previously said that he wishes to retire fellow MMA star Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Riddle allegedly has backstage heat with WWE officials regarding his comments against Goldberg, which could be a possible reason behind him being off the card at NXT Takeover: Toronto.

Ziggler is currently advertised to face The Miz at Summerslam, which is simply a red herring according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Fans can expect the match between the two former World Heavyweight Champions to be announced shortly.

Summerslam takes place from Toronto, Canada one week from Sunday.
