NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day – Chaotic Ending Sees Adam Cole Turn on Kyle O’Reilly

The first NXT Takeover event of the year was main evented by the NXT Championship match between Pete Dunne and Finn Balor.

The two men put on a clinic before Balor was able to find a way past The Bruiserweight with his usual Coup De Grace followed by 1916.

After the match, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan attacked the NXT Champion in order to send a message for their fallen friend, before The Undisputed Era made the save.

Kyle O’Reilly and Finn Balor have become good friends in recent months after several Championship matches and it appeared as though O’Reilly was looking to recruit Balor into The Undisputed Era after helping him to his feet.

The four men stood together in the ring and while Adam Cole and Roderick Strong threw up the symbol for UE and Balor was about to throw up his signature pose when he was super-kicked by Cole.

This led to a disagreement between O’Reilly and his long time friend before The Panama City Playboy then shocked the world when he delivered a super-kick to his teammate as well.

Cole then exited the ring and left Roderick Strong standing by the ropes looking shell shocked wondering which side he would be forced to take.
