NXT Takeover: WarGames 2 was a huge night for the developmental brand and even though there were no title changes on the night, the show was still seen as a huge success. As part of the show, Tommaso Ciampa targeted Mauro Ranallo and threw his script at him live on air.
The issue was, that a fan was then able to catch the script for the show and has since published the document online. Whilst, this isn’t as bad as when Liv Morgan gave away all the results to the upcoming NXT Tapings, this is still something that WWE would have wanted to avoid since it ruins the illusion that WWE tries to give their product even though it’s well-known that the sport is predetermined.
The script goes into detail about the matches, camera angles and even when Kayla Braxton should announce the superstars to the ring, which shows just how much detail goes into the show. It also shows that everything went according to plan and there was no star who deviated from the script.
The moment that Ciampa attacked Ranallo was caught by a fan close up as well and that was also shared online. Ranallo looks visibly shocked by the fact that he has been assaulted by one of the stars and the script then lands on the floor where it’s thought that the fan was able to obtain it and share it.
Even though the show has already happened, it is an interesting insight into how WWE put together a show and how much work actually goes into it behind the scenes.
My view of @ProjectCiampa going insane and attacking @mauroranallo with the show script at NXT TakeOver WarGames this past weekend #WWENXT #NXTTakeOverWarGamesII #WarGames #NXTTakeOver #SurvivorSeries #VelveteenDream pic.twitter.com/Sz5n9lwFna
