NXT Has A New North American Champion

NXT‘s most recent batch of taping was recorded last night at Full Sail University and the following article contains a number of spoilers that are yet to air on the WWE Network.

Johnny Gargano won the North American Championship back at Takeover: Phoenix when he was able to defeat Ricochet in a high octane match, but Johnny Takeover went on to put his newly won title on the line at the recent tapings against Velveteen Dream.

The match is currently scheduled to headline the February 27th episode of NXT and will see Dream find a way past one of the fastest rising stars in the company to lift his first Championship in WWE.

Is Kassius Ohno On His Way Out?

Velveteen Dream seemed to be the most disgruntled WWE superstar in the company ahead of Takeover: Phoenix this past weekend, but one star that was able to appear on the show but still isn’t happy with creative is Kassius Ohno.

The Knockout Artist interrupted a Tag Team match as part of last night’s tapings, before entering the ring and stating that he wasn’t appreciated in NXT but he had options and he would go somewhere that he was.

Before Ohno was able to elaborate on this plans, Keith Lee made his way to the ring and knocked out his long time rival before telling him “Don’t let the door hit Ohno in the ass on the way out.”

It is unknown if this is a new storyline for Ohno, who has had this kind of character for the past few years, or if this is the way for WWE to open up a new and interesting feud for the two stars. With NXT’s biggest event of the year now on the horizon, it will be interesting to see what part Ohno plays in the show.
