Its official, NXT UK will begin streaming on the WWE Network this coming Wednesday.
It has long been rumored and recently announced that the WWE was going to begin showcasing male and female wrestling talent from the United Kingdom in a new show.
The new show, dubbed NXT UK, will be a weekly episodic series that will stream on the WWE Network starting October 17. It will stream on Wednesday at 8 pm BT/3 PM ET.
NXT UK will have one-hour episodes that will feature the several big names from both the current NXT program and the WWE UK Tournament.
Despite the fact that he is currently believed to be injured, the official announcement from WWE.com states that the current WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will be featured in NXT UK.
Dunne, who has now held the UK Championship for more than 500 days, has been missing indie promotion dates. Allegedly this is because he has been injured.
While there has been no official word from the WWE as to Dunne’s injury, reports say it is a minor foot injury.
Given as Dunne’s name is front and center in WWE’s official announcement of NXT UK, it seems like the injury is small enough that, the rest he got from missing his indy dates should not affect his performances at NXT UK.
Also advertised as being part of NXT UK are Tyler Bate, Toni Storm, Mark Andrews, Rhea Ripley,Trent Seven and Wolfgang. Commentating duties will fall to Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuiness. They will be joined by Andy Shepherd as ring announcer.
The role of the General Manager of NXT will fall to the legend Johnny Saint and broadcasting personality Radzi Chinyanganya, will be joining NXT UK as a backstage interviewer.
