Paige Criticizes WWE For Their Use of Women’s Tag Team Championships

Paige retired from in-ring action in WWE back in 2018 but the British star has remained a part of the company as both an on-screen General Manager and now as a participant on WWE Backstage.

Paige was part of WWE Backstage this week where she was able to share her thoughts on the Women’s Tag Team Championships and how ineffective they have been on Raw and SmackDown so far.

“I just feel like the tag team championships haven’t been utilized to their full potential, considering everyone that’s had them. I feel like they’re not being defended, I don’t think they’ve been used right. They’ve kind of been thrown under the rug. They’re not being taken very seriously.”

“I just feel like at some point they have to be taken seriously because this is such a big moment for the women’s division to have these tag team titles instead of just having one championship.”

The Women’s Tag Team Championships were only introduced at Elimination Chamber back in 2019 and won by current Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley.

In the past year, The IIconics, Asuka and Kairi Sane, and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have also lifted the titles.

At present, the Women’s Tag Team Champions are the only stars who are able to appear on all three brands.
