The Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief and current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, believes that he and Reigns could retire this year and still deserve a spot on the Hall of Fame.
In an interview with BT Sport, Heyman said that, while he and Reigns could have walked away from the wrestling business last year, they returned due to their appetite for success.
“We both could have said ‘Ok, we’ve made a lot of money, caused a lot of commotion, been on top for many years.’ What a body of work, Hall of Fame careers, for both of us. But neither one of us was satisfied,” said Heyman.
According to Heyman, they both saw 2020 as an opportunity to craft a new narrative that could lift them to a level of greatness that had never before been achieved. This is why they returned and why they decided to work together.
“WE both wanted to see just how much we could transform this industry, set the trend, and blaze a path that no one had had the balls to blaze before. And we were on the same page,” he concluded.
