Pete Dunne has been the reigning United Kingdom Champion ever since NXT Takeover: Chicago back in May 2017 when he defeated Tyler Bate to become just the second Champion to hold the title.

Bate won the first-ever United Kingdom Championship Tournament in January that year before he and Dunne entered a feud that lasted a number of months and The Bruiserweight went on to lift the Championship in Chicago.

In the year that has followed, Dunne has defended the United Kingdom Championship against all comers including Zack Gibson, Ricochet, Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole to become the longest reigning Champion of the modern era.

Dunne recently updated his Instagram to share that he had held the Championship for 500 days, the Champion has now held the Championship for 513 days, which means that he had broken Asuka’s record at 510 days.

Asuka reigned her division for 510 days as the NXT Women’s Champion before she relinquished the title and moved to the main roster. It was an undefeated streak that was headline news but Dunne has been able to keep his reign under the radar since the United Kingdom show is still yet to air on TV.
