Pete Dunne Retains Title Against Adam Cole, WWE NXT Results

  • March 14th episode of WWE NXT witnessed Pete Dune successfully defend his United Kingdom Championship against Adam Cole by way of disqualification. Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish got involved in the match-up leading to the disqualification. Post-match, Dunne formed a relationship with Roderick Strong who came out to the champ’s aid and helped clear the ring.

 

  • Andrade “Cien” Almas and Aleister Black made their NXT Championship Match official for TakeOver: New Orleans. Although Almas wasn’t present physically, Zelina Vega trash talked to Black and slapped him before the#1 contender finally signed the contract and handed it back to NXT’s General Manager, William Regal. However, things took an ugly turn as Candice LeRae came out and assaulted Vega both inside and outside the ring before finishing things off with a Super Swinging Neckbreaker.

 

  • The Street Profits secured the pinfall over Heavy Machinery to advance to the second round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The match was mostly one-sided with Heavy Machinery dominating 95% of the match but finally fell to Ford as he hit Dozovic with a Frog Splash to secure the victory. The winners will now take on The Authors of Pain in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Classic.

 

  • Dakota Kai, with a slightly taped-up shoulder rolled-up Lacey Evans to secure a quick pin after enduring some blows to the injured shoulder and reversing Evan’s submission hold. Post-match the Queen of Spades, Shayna Baszler herself appeared to intimidate Kai who was trapped in the ring. Ember Moon’s music hit giving Kai the opportunity to leave and the reigning NXT Women’s Champion came out to accept Baszler ‘s challenge for a title rematch at TakeOver: New Orleans.

 

  • SAnitY (Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe) defeated Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. SAnitY will now face the winner of Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs. Moustache Mountain in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Classic.
