Peyton Royce and Tye Dillinger publicly announced their engagement earlier this year on Instagram, just weeks before The Perfect 10 was released from his WWE contract something that he requested. Dillinger was released along with Hideo Itami and TJ Perkins as WWE seemingly had a spring clearout and was quite open about the fact that he wasn’t happy on the sidelines.
Dillinger was a popular star in NXT and one of his career highlights saw him appear at number 10 in The Royal Rumble match, but following his call-up to the main roster, the company was never able to cash in on his potential.
Royce has remained with WWE following her fiance’s departure and is one half of the current Women’s Tag Team Champions following her victory at WrestleMania but as part of a recent appearance on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast alongside her tag team partner Billie Kay, she was able to address why Dillinger left WWE.
“He wants to wrestle. He loves wrestling, and that’s what he wants to do. And so he’s going to go make himself happy and he’s going to do that.”
“He used to ask me, ‘Babe, would you still, like, um, what do you think’ and I would always say, ‘I just want you to be happy and whatever, whatever that is, you do that, and I will support you because as long as you’re happy, I need you to be happy,'” she said via Ringsidenews.
Dillinger’s future is somewhat undecided at present but he has already accepted bookings on The Independent Circuit following his WWE release and Cody Rhodes has stated publicly that he is a fan of the star and hopes that he finds a path that makes him happy, which means that he could be heading over in the direction of All Elite Wrestling.
