Over the past few weeks, Dolph Ziggler, Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre have all teased the fact that Dean Ambrose will eventually turn on The Shield.
It was expected that this would happen at Super Show-Down this past weekend, but now it’s thought that this storyline is set to continue over the next few months.
Dean Ambrose was supposed to turn heel on Seth Rollins earlier this year ahead of WrestleMania, but he was sidelined with a bicep tear, which kept him out of action until SummerSlam season.
Since his return, WWE has made light of the fact that he is the only member of The Shield without a Championship and made him feel inferior compared to Roman Reigns and Rollins, which is why many fans expect a heel turn in the near future.
Bryan Alvarez commented on this on the most recent episode of The Wrestling Observer, where he stated that he thought that the storyline was going to be stretched out over the next few weeks.
“They’re going to stretch this thing out until Survivor Series,” he said via Ringsidenews.
The two teams are obviously going to face off at Survivor Series with reports suggesting that Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin could have a traditional Survivor Series match to determine the man who will control Raw over the next few months.
This means that it could be Dean Ambrose who decides to turn on his team and costs Angle his win over Corbin.
Survivor Series would be the perfect place for this turn since it would then lead into a feud between Rollins and Ambrose heading into The Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 35.
