Braun Strowman made a huge mistake last night when he tried to cash in his Money In The Bank contract on Universal Champion Roman Reigns following his victory over Finn Balor.
The minute it was announced that Strowman was cashing in his contract, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose made their way to the ring to support their Shield teammate.
The attack ended with a Triple Powerbomb through the announce table whilst it was made clear that even though it was announced that Braun was cashing in his contract, the bell never actually rang so it wasn’t technically cashed in.
Given the way that RAW ended last night and the fact that Hell In A Cell is now less than four weeks away, there are rumors that The Shield could be set to main event together for the first time since their ill-fated TLC match last year when Roman Reigns was replaced by Kurt Angle.
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, WWE could have the plan for Reigns to defend against Strowman at Hell in a Cell, (despite advertising suggesting that Reigns will defend against Owens) but there could also be plans for The Shield to take on Strowman and two friends.
“I guess you could do something with The Shield vs Strowman and 2 partners, he said via RingSideNews. If you want to put The Shield together against Strowman, Lashley, and Balor.”
Ambrose had managed to defeat Dolph Ziggler earlier in the night in his first match back since injury which is why it came as such a shock when The Shield reunited last night since there were rumors that WWE had some different plans for Rollins and Ambrose moving forward.
