Ever since Rey Mysterio made a shock appearance at The Royal Rumble back in January and stole all of the headlines, WWE has been working hard to persuade ‘The Master of the 619’ to re-sign with the company.
Mysterio had to work hard to gain his release a few years ago when it was reported that he was refusing to cash the cheques that he was being paid by WWE because he wanted to leave. He was granted this release back in 2015 and he has since gone on to make a name for himself on the Independent Circuit.
Mysterio has remained in fantastic shape, which is why WWE is trying so hard to land his signature. The issue here is the fact that Mysterio still has a number of dates he has to fulfill, one of which is the show that has been created by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks called ‘All In’ which takes place on September 1st.
According to Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer, the issue that WWE is having with Mysterio’s contract negotiations is the fact that the company want him to work more dates that he’s actually willing to, which is why there has been a lot of stalling on both sides.
Mysterio is still one of the most popular wrestlers in the world and continues to work for a number of promotions outside of WWE. There have been numerous reports about his current status over the past few months, ever since that Royal Rumble appearance but the main issue that WWE is having right now is the fact that Mysterio only wants a part-time deal and WWE are offering him much more than that.
