Baron Corbin has been in charge of Raw for the past few months ever since Stephanie McMahon sent Kurt Angle on vacation and decided that Monday nights needed an acting General Manager.
Many of the rumors over the past few days have pointed towards a Kurt Angle return since he’s expected to face Baron Corbin’s team at Survivor Series, with control of Monday Night Raw on the line.
This is not something that has been confirmed as of yet, but according to a report by RingSideNews, Kurt Angle is backstage in Chicago and is expected to make his return tonight since it’s unlikely that he would have made the trip to The Windy City for nothing.
Angle has been training ahead of his return to the ring and it was reported back in August that this was the main reason why he was taken off TV, to begin with.
The former World Champion last wrestled at WrestleMania when he teamed with Ronda Rousey in a winning effort against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H but has openly spoken about returning to the ring in the coming months.
Survivor Series takes place on November 18th and it’s the next pay-per-view that the entire roster will be part of since the men won’t be performing at WWE Evolution on the 28th of October and the women won’t be allowed to be part of Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.
There have been reports that WWE is backing away from the idea of a traditional Survivor Series Raw vs SmackDown match and that Team Corbin vs Team Angle could be the main event instead, which could be why WWE is looking to get the rivalry started early on tonight’s episode of Raw.
