R-Truth has become a popular star on WWE TV over the past few months since he’s been at the forefront of the 24/7 Championship picture ever since it was introduced.
Truth himself is a veteran in the wrestling business and definitely deserves the praise he has received in recent weeks from superstars all over the company, but it appears that recent segments could have been so much better if the company had agreed with some of his ideas.
Truth recently spoke to Edge and Christian on their Podcast of Awesomeness where he was able to reveal some of the best ideas that he had when he learned about the 24/7 Championship and his involvement in the storyline.
“Guys that you don’t get to see. I even asked creative about using all the guys more. I got ideas as far as like, using Bo Dallas and Joe Hennig [Curtis Axel] as my bodyguards. ‘Well, why wouldn’t they pin you?’ Because I would tell them, ‘You guys don’t want this ugly title. You want the tag team titles.’”
“That funny, comedy stuff. Then they would be beasts when it comes time to do something. Every once in a while, they would roll me up — one would pull the other off — ‘What are you doing man? We’re supposed to be bodyguarding for him’ — ‘Well, I’m trying to make sure you stay on your toes. That was just a test.’ Things like that so, there are so many things we can do with the 24/7 but I don’t want to do the same thing to where it gets boring, to where it gets corny stupid,” he said via Ringsidenews.
Truth is no longer 24/7 Champion, but he has gone to some lengths to reclaim his title over the past few months so Drake Maverick’s Honeymoon could be another place that Truth decides to go in order to reclaim his title and become a nine-time 24/7 Champion.
