Randy Orton Reveals The Truth Behind His Bad Attitude Backstage

Randy Orton is one of the biggest stars in WWE, but he has been part of the company since he was in his early 20s and some of the stories about his backstage attitude back then have gone on to define his career.

Orton has reportedly mellowed over over the past few years and reached the point where he is now seen as one of the leaders of the locker room, but this wasn’t always the case.

Many stars have commented on The Apex Predator’s change of attitude in recent years and believe that he’s in a much better place now, both physically and mentally.

The Viper recently appeared on Corey Graves’ After The Bell Podcast where he revealed the reason behind his bad attitude all those years ago.

“My attitude when I was in my mid-20s, I think I walked around with a chip on my shoulder. I think it came across as me being stuck up or a narcissist. I think that was kind of a cover for me and my insecurities. And you wouldn’t think it but a lot of the guys and the girls in the WWE locker room are insecure. We’re human beings and we’re out there wearing next to nothing every week on live television.”

Orton also went on to reveal what has changed in his life and given him a complete character makeover. The Viper married Kim Kessler back in 2015 and the couple now has a daughter together as well as Kessler’s four sons from her previous relationship.

“You have to really discipline your way of life to be in good shape, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. In my case, I have a very strong wife, but that wasn’t always the case, I didn’t have somebody like I do now that I could talk to and would value their opinion at home as far as personal things go, so I was kind of lost in my mid-20s.”
