WWE legends Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio will go 1-on-1 this Sunday, December 16, at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs and the betting odds for the epic Chairs Match have already been revealed.
According to Sky Bet, Orton (4/6) is currently the favorite with Mysterio (11/10) billed as the underdog, a moniker the masked wonder has been wearing throughout his career in WWE.
The two veterans share a deep history in WWE – as friends and foes – both men have gone to war with each other numerous times over the last decade and a half.
The Viper and Mr. 619 are in the final stages of their in-ring careers and as it turns out, the WWE Universe will get yet another chance to witness the two pro-wrestling icons tearing each other apart in a Chairs Match this Sunday at TLC.
Although the stipulation doesn’t bring anything alluring to the table and many feel it’s pointless, given the nature of the TLC pay-per-view, it’s evident that WWE had already planned to ‘decorate’ this epic match by allowing chairs to be used throughout the entire bout.
Given the bitter rivalry that Orton and Mysterio currently share on SmackDown Live, both men are to receive chair shots from one another at some point during their match at the SAP Center in San Jose.
It appears that TLC will bring a definitive end to this feud although recent rumors claim that the Chairs Match could lead to an epic Hair vs. Mask match at some point before WrestleMania 35.
With Royal Rumble a month away, it’s safe to assume that the feud is going to climax on Sunday since WWE would want to have both Orton and Mysterio compete in the 30-Man elimination match.
Although neither of the two is a favorite to win the match at Phoenix, the fact that Rey and Randy share three Royal Rumble victories between them should give fans enough confidence to not rule them out as the victor come January 27.
