Randy Orton Says Tommaso Ciampa and Other NXT Talents are Going to Have Very Short Careers

Over the last few days, Randy Orton and Tommaso Ciampa have traded shots on social media which reportedly upset Vince McMahon. While a match between the two Superstars seems likely, the WWE Universe will have to patiently wait for that day.

During a recent Backlash media conference, Orton stated that he’s open to working with Ciampa at Mr. McMahon’s command. The Viper is under contract with WWE and will do whatever is asked of him.

“Yeah, whatever Vince tells me to do, I am going to do it. If it’s working with Tommaso Ciampa then I’d be all for it, I think he’s very talented and there’s a few things I can help him with. Mainly, to help him get a little more out of his career.”

“I know he’s been plagued with injuries, but I also know he loves and respects this business. The NXT guys worry me because I see them doing such highly physical things during their matches, those things are dangerous and they wear and tear on your career.”

While Orton respects Ciampa for the latter’s brute in-ring style, The Viper isn’t too sold on the same due to the imminent risks and dangers involved.

“When you see so much of that back to back, you don’t get to invest in these matches because they’re just one thing after another. Although it’s highly physically impressive, and I wouldn’t be able to do that style, they’re going to have very short careers.

The 13-time World Champion didn’t shy away from sharing a few tips that can help The Sicilian Psychopath improve his storytelling and ensure a much longer career.

“I worry about Ciampa in particular because with all these big injuries he’s had, he needs to learn how to tell stories and slow it down and not think that the fans want to see him kill himself. You’re only as good as the last match you ever had.”

For what it’s worth, Ciampa is often considered to be the vanguard of NXT alongside Johnny Gargano. While neither man has the slightest intention of getting called up to the main roster, fans would be much appreciative if Ciampa, in particular, is around for a longer period of time.
