Real Reason Why Brock Lesnar’s Name Wasn’t Mentioned On Monday Night RAW

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter currently reports the presence of a variety of speculations regarding WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar’s immediate future in the company.Lesnar has been confirmed for SummerSlam and is also being advertised for the RAW after SummerSlam show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. However, as of this writing, it is still not clear whether Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley at Extreme Rules would be to determine the #1 Contender for the Universal Title.

The real reason why Lesnar was not mentioned on the Extreme Rules Go-Home episode of Monday Night RAW this week, after making headlines for his UFC 226 appearance, is because CEO Vince McMahon made the decision to keep his name off the show.

It appears that McMahon wants the WWE Universe to have the impression with fans that Lesnar walked out so he could go back to UFC and therefore is not going to return to drop the title. Although this move has gotten more fans to hate Lesnar, it remains to be seen whether this act would actually get Reigns cheered. It is to be noted that everything with Lesnar is being dictated by Vince McMahon and Lesnar is not holding up the title like some fans may think. As of this writing, The Beast’s contract runs through the end of August.

McMahon told everyone at the RAW production meeting to focus on Extreme Rules and not to mention Lesnar since he is not featured for the Pay-Per-View this Sunday.

McMahon said later that they could talk about Lesnar “When he’s being offered to our audience and we can capitalize on it.”
