Reason Why Mandy Rose vs Naomi Didn’t Take Place On SmackDown Live

SmackDown General Manager Paige announced this past week on Twitter that Mandy Rose would be going one-on-one with Naomi on SmackDown Live, the final episode of the show before TLC, but many of the WWE Universe noticed that this match didn’t actually take place.

It was reported by PWinsider earlier this week that Finn Balor had been sidelined due to a mystery illness rather than an injury, something that would force him to be cleared for physical contact before his match with Drew McIntyre on Sunday night.

Alexa Bliss recently updated her Instagram page to confirm that she was also struggling with a mystery illness. It is unknown as to whether or not this is linked to the same illness as Balor, but CageSideSeats is reporting that despite Paige stating that The Miz was to blame for Mandy Rose vs Naomi not taking place this week, it was actually because Rose is also on the sick list.

As of yet, there are no other stars who have revealed that they are struggling with illness and it is unknown as to whether or not all three stars are struggling with the same illness either.

A few years ago, TLC was hit by sickness when the likes of Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt were forced onto the sidelines with mumps and had to be replaced in their matches by Kurt Angle and AJ Styles.

Luckily, the news is positive this time around as it appears that Balor should be cleared in time to be part of his match with Drew McIntyre, so TLC shouldn’t be affected.

Rose and Naomi are expected to have their match next week on SmackDown Live if Rose is cleared to make her return in time.
