16-time World Champion Ric Flair has been making headlines recently for his attempts to copyright the phrase and nickname “The Man” besides inking a deal with Adidas.
Flair was scheduled to appear at the Arkansas Comic Con in Little Rock over the weekend, but fans were left disheartened when the legend didn’t show up as advertised.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that The Nature Boy wasn’t able to make it to the event due to travel issues of some sort, and his absence didn’t stem from a health issue.
Arkansas Comic Con posted the following on their official Facebook page:
“Just received the news from his agent that Ric Flair will be unable to attend this weekend in Little Rock. We will miss his infectious energy here, but we know that he wanted to meet the fans as much as we wanted to see him again.”
“To see the list of attending guests and the other fun we have planned for this weekend, please visit www.arkansascomiccon.com”
“For anyone who had professional photo ops through Wolf Studios Photography scheduled with Ric, your refunds will be automatically processed.”
Flair is currently scheduled for a special appearance on the SmackDown debut show on FOX next month. It will be interesting to see whether The Wrestling God shows up as planned or pulls himself from the mega event at their very last minute.
Flair’s conflict with WWE over “The Man” nickname has caused his daughter Charlotte to turn against him. It’s possible that The Queen is afraid of Vince McMahon potentially sabotaging her career which explains why she wants her father to make peace at the earliest instead of taking any ugly legal action against the billion-dollar promotion.
We sincerely hope that Flair and WWE will be able to come to terms before things turn even bitter than what it is now.
