WWE is about to face stiff competition from AEW once the upstart promotion kicks off its weekly TV show on TNT this Fall.



Fans are correlating this impending WWE vs. AEW wrestling war to the extremely famous Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW.



During a recent interview with <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://youtu.be/YEHAU5hoHYY'" target="_blank">WrestleZone</a>, Rey Mysterio talked about the stiff competition that AEW has in store for WWE.

Vince McMahon triumphed over WCW back in the day but the entire landscape of pro wrestling industry has thoroughly changed and now The Chairman may want to re-strategize if he wants his promotion to stay ahead in business.

Mr. 619 was an active player for WCW during Monday Night Wars and was only 21 when the infamous war began. After the death of WCW in 2001, Mysterio signed with WWE and the rest is history.

The 21st WWE Triple Crown Champion noted that fans will benefit from the war between WWE and AEW. There&#8217;s going to be variety and everyone will be required to bring their A-game to the table. And that just might as well be &#8220;good for business.&#8221;
