Rey Mysterio had suffered from a torn triceps injury during last Saturday’s pay-per-view, Payback.
Mysterio took to Instagram to share an update on his status with the fans. It doesn’t look like Mysterio will need surgery and it is expected that he will only be out of action for about two months.
Mysterio posted a video of himself getting PRP injections to treat his injury.
Mysterio’s last match had been a tag match with his son Dominik against Seth Rollins and Rollin’s disciple Murphy during Payback.
The father-son duo was victorious over Rollins and Murphy and it had previously been announced that Mysterio would be facing Rollins during the next episode of Raw.
Mysterio and Rollins were to face off on Raw as a part of a series of contests between WWE superstars to determine the next contender to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.
As Mysterio was injured, he was replaced in the match by Dominik. Mysterio and his wife and daughter were present backstage to cheer him on, but Dominik was unsuccessful against the veteran Rollins.
Rollins then moved on to a triple threat with Keith Lee and Randy Orton which Orton won to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship.
