Rey Mysterio has watched his son Dominik follow in his footsteps in recent months as he’s been added to WWE’s main roster.
The 46-year-old was rumored to be negotiating a new deal with WWE last year, but now the former World Champion has revealed to Sports Illustrated that he has inked a new deal with the company.
Mysterio initially signed with WWE back in 2002 and has become a popular star all over the world, his son first appeared on WWE TV back in 2005 when he was just eight years old and has since expressed a desire to follow in his father’s footsteps.
While the specifics of his new deal haven’t been revealed, Mysterio revealed that he intends to continue to wrestle until father time catches up with him.
“We never made the signing of my new deal public, but there is definitely going to be more time to see Rey Mysterio in WWE. I’m going to keep wrestling, at least until Father Time catches up and says, ‘It’s time to go.’ ”
Mysterio and his son Dominik recently made history at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view by becoming the first father and son duo to be part of the same Royal Rumble match.
