Ring of Honor World Champion Rush’s Contract Set to Expire

Current Ring of Honor World Champion RUSH’s contract is set to expire, fueling speculation about his future.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, RUSH’s contract will expire at the end of 2020. This is in conjunction with his deal with CMLL, which will expire around the same time.

RUSH won the ROH World Title back in February when he beat PCO during Gateway to Honor. Despite holding the top championship in the company, RUSH has not been seen on ROH TV.

ROH began having TV tapings again in Baltimore in August. RUSH has not participated and, in fact, has not wrestled since March where he competed in an AAA event.

His absence from ROH and the news about his contract has people speculating that he is “looking for a better deal.”

If he does indeed allow his contract to expire, this could pave the way for RUSH to go to one of the other three big wrestling promotions: WWE, AEW, or Impact.

Though RUSH wrestles unmasked now, he is a Mexican luchador from a wrestling family based in Mexico. He has mostly worked with CMLL and ROH due to the working relationship between the two companies.  He has also wrestled in NJPW and MLW.
