Jon Moxley finally had his first match for All Elite Wrestling as part of Fyter Fest this past weekend, where he proved that his hardcore side was still very much alive. Mox has only been away from WWE since the end of April but already a number of superstars have spoken openly about the switch that the former World Champion went through following his departure from the company back in April.
Seth Rollins was quite outspoken about Moxley’s departure and even talked about the comments that he then made on the Talk is Jericho podcast, but Roman Reigns has remained tight-lipped about his thoughts on his friend’s departure over the past few months.
Of course, Reigns and Ambrose were traveling buddies throughout their time in WWE and even though Rollins and Ambrose were obviously wrestling soul mates, it was Reigns and Ambrose who were much closer, which could be why the former World Champion’s comments about Mox’s transition seem as though he was hurt by the fact that he left.
Reigns was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso and as part of a preview for the full interview that will be released on Wednesday, the following comments were released.
“I don’t think our working relationship is going to be what it used to be, but I’ll always have love for that guy, he’ll always be my close friend, and I wish the best for him.”
“We have a brotherhood, so I’m always cheering for him. I’ve shared so many great moments with Ambrose or Mox. We have love for each other well beyond the wrestling, and it will always be that way.”
Roman Reigns needs to focus on his current feud with Drew McIntyre moving forward, while Jon Moxley has a huge match with Kenny Omega at All Out on August 31st.
