The Rock recently set the wrestling world abuzz with the idea that he would come back for a WrestleMania match against his cousin Roman Reigns.
Reigns has just successfully defended the WWE Universal Title and asserted his role as “Tribal Chief” of the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty against another cousin, Jey Uso. He recently addressed to The Great One’s potential “comeback”, on the Complex Load Management podcast.
“I think I’m the guy,” he said about the Rock’s return. “If there is anybody that he would feel comfortable within the ring, and have the proper build-up and can rise to that occasion, there’s no doubt I’m the guy.”
Reigns went on to say that his current heel run would make for very “good TV” if he was to face someone like the Rock.
“Going forward and building a really dominant bad guy within myself and here comes this astronomical superstar, there has never been a guy on his level,” he said.
“You would have to build that villain to get to that point,” he concluded.
Though Reigns believes he is the “chief”, he still has a lot of respect for The Rock.
During the same interview, he was asked about his wrestling Mount Rushmore and said the Rock would be there, second only to The Undertaker.
After The Undertaker and The Rock, would be Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, and John Cena.
