Sami Zayn made his return to WWE on the Raw After WrestleMania last week, when he faced off against Finn Balor in an unsuccessful challenge for the Intercontinental Championship.
Zayn wasn’t happy about his loss after spending almost 10 months on the sidelines following surgery on two torn rotator cuffs, but the former NXT Champion believed that the WWE Universe had missed him, even though he hasn’t missed them.
Following his loss, he gave a passionate speech about his career that seemingly came straight from the heart since WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently revealed that Zayn wasn’t scripted throughout this promo.
Henry recently appeared on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio where he revealed that Zayn was given a mic and told to speak his mind in front of the live crowd in New York last week.
“That was not written for him. They said, ‘Sami, how do you feel about this situation?’ I got this. And he let the world have it, and when I say the world I mean the world of wrestling from the people that sit in the stands. You have been judged, sir. Sami lets you know how he feels.
I walked up to him and I said, ‘Man, who the hell are you? Who are you? Where has this guy been all this time?’ He said, ‘Mark, I’m not holding back no more.’ I said, ‘Don’t. Please don’t hold back!’” he said via Ringsidenews.
It is unknown as to where this leads Sami Zayn moving forward since the former NXT Champion could be moved to SmackDown as part of the Superstar Shake-up next week, but this could be an interesting turn for Sami, who has only been heel before alongside Kevin Owens.
