Paul Heyman has been standing alongside Brock Lesnar for the past 16 years but given the actions of The Beast over the past few weeks, it appears that Heyman could be set to move on from his friend following SummerSlam.
Whilst Lesnar is reported to be trying to negotiate a contract that allows him to be part of both WWE and UFC it is thought that the current Universal Champion could still take some time away from WWE following The Biggest Party of The Summer.
If Lesnar loses his Championship at SummerSlam, then it’s likely that Heyman will move on to a new client and whilst the man himself has remained tight-lipped about who that could be, there are a few names that the WWE Universe have already thought about. Those names include Bobby Lashley, Roman Reigns, and Ronda Rousey.
Interestingly, it’s Samoa Joe who was recently asked about the possibility of working with Heyman in an interview with Planeta Wrestling where he seemed open to the thought if his circumstances changed.
“Paul already had his opportunity to cross that line and he missed his opportunity,” Joe said. “Paul and I are businessmen and if circumstances change again and we reach a mutual understanding… we’ll see what happens in the future.”
Joe could become the WWE Champion next weekend when he takes on AJ Styles at SummerSlam and would be in a perfect position for someone like Heyman to step in and work as his advocate in the main event of SmackDown Live, but at the same time, it could be argued that there are stars who need Heyman much more than The Samoan Submission Machine does.
