Samoa Joe is a former NXT Champion but ever since he was promoted to the main roster he has struggled to reach the same level. Joe was recently part of an intense feud with WWE Champion AJ Styles, which led to Joe actually winning a number of matches against the Champion, but he was unable to win the title.

Joe was last seen on WWE TV when he took on Jeff Hardy in a World Cup qualifying match back on October 9th, a match which he lost. Before this, he was last seen in a WWE Championship match against AJ Styles at Super Show-Down.

It was well-known that Joe was out of action with an injury, but finally, Dave Meltzer has confirmed that this is the reason why Joe has been away from WWE TV over the past three weeks. Meltzer discussed Joe’s injury on a recent episode of The Wrestling Observer but was unable to confirm what the injury was that Joe was struggling with.

Joe was supposed to be part of WWE live events against AJ Styles this weekend, but reports suggest that he wasn’t part of these shows.

Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman are also struggling with injuries at present but have been able to continue their storylines on WWE TV. Samoa Joe’s injury must be something much more serious since he has been completely sidelined.

Interestingly, John Cena is now refusing to be part of Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia and WWE is supposed to replace him in the storyline on WWE TV in the next week.

They could have a match between Rusev, Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura who are the three losers from the qualifying matches that have taken place over the past few weeks but WWE’s actual plan is still yet to be revealed.
