Sasha Banks is set to face Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship this Sunday at WWE Clash Of Champions.
At WrestleMania 35, Banks and Bayley lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles to The IIconics. The bizarre thing is, The Boss wasn’t informed about the finish beforehand and as soon it had come to her knowledge, she made an attempt to quit the company ahead of the title showdown.
WWE wasted no time in sending Sasha off to a vacation after the show. It seemed that The Boss had apparently cooled down but her cryptic tweets said otherwise. After all, she wasn’t ready to settle for less upon returning to the ring.
While speaking to WFNZ Sports Radio, Banks revealed that her 4-month hiatus post-Mania was directed towards recharging her batteries and re-evaluating her life.
“I’ve been doing this for seven years straight, no break. People need to step back and reevaluate their lives and take care of their souls and minds and I’m back and I’m better than ever and I got myself a championship match on Sunday so, I think I did quite well for myself, right?”
Banks made her much-anticipated return on RAW after SummerSlam, taking out Natalya and Lynch in the process. This marked her heel turn and upped her already badass character.
The Boss recently reunited with bestie and reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, and together they wrestled former besties Charlotte Flair and Lynch in Tag Team action this week on RAW.
The Queen and The Man stood tall over the The Boss N Hug Connection but that didn’t manage to halt Banks’ momentum heading into the title showdown at Clash Of Champions.
The match could very well go either way on Sunday when Becky and Banks step between the ropes in Charlotte, North Carolina.
