As announced on WWE.com, a returning John Cena will battle Kevin Owens as part of the card of the WWE Super Show-Down in Australia.

The WWE Super Show-Down is set to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 6, 2018.

Cena and Owens had one of the best rivalries of 2015. It began when the debuting NXT Champion Owens responded to Cena’s United States Championship Open Challenge. The rivalry saw the two men clash in three pay-per-views that year: WWE Elimination Chamber, Money In The Bank, and Battleground.

Cena ended up winning that rivalry by retaining the United States Championship at Battleground.

Since 2015, the two men’s paths have remained mostly separate. Currently, Owens is feuding with the “Monster in the Bank” Braun Strowman. Owens and Strowman are set to face each other during Summerslam (August 9). The match stipulation states that the winner will get the Money In The Bank contract.

Cena, on the other hand, has been busy with outside endeavors. His last in-ring appearance was at the Greatest Royal Rumble (April 27) where he faced Triple H.

WWE Super Show-Down will be the biggest live event ever in Australia. Aside from the renewed rivalry between Cena and Owens, the only other officially announced match for the event will be between a returning Undertaker and Triple H.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H match is being promoted as the last encounter between the two titans. The Undertaker’s last WWE appearance was at WrestleMania 34, where he essentially squashed Cena in a match that barely lasted 3 minutes. Triple H’s last match was during the previously mentioned Greatest Royal Rumble bout, where he lost to Cena.
