Seth Rollins has been officially named as the team captain for the RAW men’s team at Survivor Series.
Survivor Series 2019 will be taking place at the Allstate Arena located in Rosemont, Illinois on November 24. In a new twist, it will involve the WWE’s third brand, NXT, for the first time.
During Survivor Series 2019, there will be traditional inter-brand 5-on-5 elimination matches with teams from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT battling it out. The lineups for these matches are expected to be officially announced in the weeks leading up to the show.
The first official announcement of the team line ups has been released on WWE.com, and it is the RAW men’s team captain, Seth Rollins.
According to the WWE press release, Rollins will be addressing the WWE Universe on the next episode of RAW. The release states that even Rollins himself doesn’t know who will be the members of his team but by the end of RAW, the full lineup for Team RAW is expected to be completed.
There will also be a 5-on-5 elimination match between the women, but as of this writing, there is no announcement on the RAW women’s team. While it might seem that the logical choice for the team and the team captain would be RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. However, she was earlier confirmed for a non-title triple threat match which will pit her against NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
During the last episode of SmackDown, however, we were given a few announcements on the SmackDown women’s team. Mainly, it was announced that Sasha Banks will be the team captain.
There was also a qualifying women’s match that saw Carmella and Dana Brooke defeat the team of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to grab two of the slots in SmackDown’s women’s team.
