October was a rough month for The Shield. Roman Reigns announced to the world that he was struggling with leukemia, before Dean Ambrose was given the instruction to turn on his long time friend Seth Rollins on the same night because it would add even more heat to a long overdue heel turn.



This obviously wasn&#8217;t the case, since Ambrose&#8217;s heel turn didn&#8217;t go the way that the company planned it and a few months later when Roman Reigns was able to return, Ambrose turned face again and acted as though the turn had never happened.

Seth Rollins recently spoke to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://sports.yahoo.com/rebuilding-a-champion-how-seth-rollins-returned-to-the-universal-championship-picture-173234663.html" target="_blank">Yahoo Sports</a> where he revealed that no one wanted that heel turn to happen, not even Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose&#8217;s heel run was the worst of his career, so much so that by Royal Rumble, the former World Champion had already made the decision not to renew his WWE contract and leave WWE when his current deal expires later this month.



The company decided that the best ending for The Shield under these circumstances was to allow the three men to team together one last time at Fastlane and then they could all go their separate ways and Ambrose would be free to walk away.
