CM Punk has been Seth Rollins‘ primary target since his return to WWE programming and both men have traded quite a few shots over the last couple of weeks amidst The Beastslayer’s heel turn on RAW.

Rollins appeared on the latest edition of WWE Backstage but Punk didn’t. As previously stated, The Second City won’t be on the FS1 show every week.

While addressing his ongoing attempts to get a match against Punk, the former Universal Champion noted that he wasn’t “shocked” with The Best In The World’s absence on the set.

“Look, to be honest with you I’m here, he’s not here and I’m not shocked about that. I think I’ve exhausted all of my energy on the subject. I just don’t think it’s going anywhere.”

“I’m not shocked that he’s not here, so I think it’s time to maybe move on to something that matters.”

“I wish he was here. I wish we could have a face-to-face, but it’s not in the cards.”

Vince McMahon was previously reported being furious with Rollins for addressing Punk chants last week on RAW. The Chairman doesn’t like to promote matches he can’t deliver, and as of now, Punk is exclusively a FOX employee.

Per betting odds, Punk is the second-favorite to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match although there’s still no word on whether he would ever return to the squared circle.

Rollins vs. Punk is still rumored to be on the WrestleMania 36 card which makes us wonder what lies in store for The Beastlsayer in the next few months.

While many suggest that Rollins’ heel turn is the beginning of Punk’s in-ring return in disguise, it remains to be seen whether the longest reigning WWE Champion will be lacing up his boots to receive the biggest pop in pro wrestling history.
