WWE stars sign contracts for an undisclosed period of time, which means that at some point these contracts will be due to expire and these stars will then be forced to negotiate new deals.

The main news has been surrounding Daniel Bryan and the fact that his contract expires on September 1st, but according to The Wrestling Observer, there are a number of other stars whose contracts are due to expire at the beginning of 2019.

The likes of AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and Shinsuke Nakamura all signed three years contracts back in 2016, which means that their deals are now due to be negotiated. All four stars have history with NJPW but it is thought that the company would be looking to re-sign rather than seeing some of their biggest stars taken by their competition.

Anderson and Gallows are former Tag Team Champions, but since they were defeated by The Bludgeon Brothers back at Money In The Bank, they haven’t featured on SmackDown Live and it’s hard to imagine that both men aren’t frustrated with the way they have been booked since their debut.

Dave Meltzer recently mentioned on The Wrestling Observer that Gallows, Anderson, and Nakamura could be looking for a return to Japan.

“It wouldn’t completely shock me. I know they do want him back.” He said via RingsideNews. “There will be attempts for all those guys. Gallows and Anderson, if they wanna go back there, they can go back there. They’re kind of treading water [in WWE]. Who knows how that’s gonna go. I don’t anticipate anyone going back there [but] you just don’t know how people feel and what people want out of life.”
