WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels could be returning to the ring for one more match in his wrestling career following the epic showdown at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
For the first time in over 8 years, HBK came out of retirement to reunite with best friend Triple H at Crown Jewel for the very first and possibly last time in WWE history. D-Generation X would have the last laugh as the Brothers of Destruction were made to rest in peace in Saudi Arabia.
Post-match Michaels declared that he would be returning to his “normal life”. Although the WWE Universe was upset with that statement, it appears that Mr. WrestleMania could be still eyeing one more match before he finally hangs up his boots, not to lace ’em up again.
The main event match of Crown Jewel featuring the two dominant tag teams was lackluster; the wrestling wasn’t there and all four men were reaching deep down to pull off their moves, a clear sign that age has caught up with them. Clearly, it was nostalgia that drew fans into the match for the entire performance wasn’t even at par to what the four icons could have done 10 years ago.
As reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Michaels “could want to come back so his last match would be more memorable.” It would also help out erase the fact that HBK’s final match took place in Saudi Arabia thereby improving his overall legacy.
Given the serious moonsault botch that took place at Crown Jewel, it’s pretty clear that The Showstopper isn’t quite happy with the effort put in by each of the 4 legends in the Middle East. Michaels doesn’t want to work a singles match with a younger Superstar due to fear of being unable to perform as he used to over a decade ago.
It remains to be seen if HBK returns for one more final match next year at WrestleMania 35.
