Former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler is gunning for gold again, set to clash with current RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36.
Baszler gave an interview to SuperSport.com where she issued a warning to not just Lynch, but to Lynch’s fans as well. According to Baszler, they are all due for a reality check, which is what they will get when she faces Lynch.
“This is what’s real,” declared Baszler. “This is what really happens if you get in a fight with someone that you shouldn’t.”
Baszler is a former MMA fighter and a friend and training partner of Ronda Rousey. She has been emphasizing her status as a “true” fighter in the lead up to the match with Lynch.
Notably, Baszler declared that her experience in the MMA cages made her ideally suited for the environment in the Elimination Chamber. During the pay-per-view, Baszler lived up to the hype, becoming the only participant in an Elimination Chamber match to eliminate every other competitor.
“This is how it works. This is what happens when you put a small animal in a lion’s den and the lion wants to play with its food,” said Baszler.
According to Baszler, Lynch and her fans have gotten used to seeing the “fake” world of wrestling and that she is ready to show them what reality is.
“Everybody’s about to get hit with a hard dose of reality,” Baszler declared. “I am that reality.”
