Shelton Benjamin Ends 14 Year Losing Streak, Surprising Statistic Regarding The 24/7 Championship

Shelton Benjamin was unveiled as the newest member of The Hurt Business last night on Raw, something that was revealed when he pinned R-Truth to become the new 24/7 Champion.

Interestingly, this is the first singles victory that Benjamin has picked up on Monday Night Raw since he defeated Super Crazy back in 2006.

Sadly, this was seemingly the highlight on Benjamin’s night since he then went on to team with Bobby Lashley and MVP in a six-man tag team match against Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali, and Ricochet.

The Hurt Business came up short in the match and Benjamin was able to escape this week’s episode of the show without R-Truth reclaiming his Championship.

Benjamin did make his own unique version of history last night though, since his 24/7 Championship win means that he’s the only star in WWE history to have held the United States, Intercontinental, Raw Tag Team, and 24/7 Championships.

Interestingly, Benjamin’s 24/7 Championship win is the 100th reign with the Champion which has been around just over a year. This is the quickest in history that a Championship has reached 100 reigns since the WWE Championship took 42 years to match the same reign record.
