After weeks of being on the losing end of a push for Andrade, it appears that Sin Cara has finally decided that it’s time to walk away from WWE. The masked star posted the following on his Twitter account earlier today which translates to the fact that he asked for his WWE release earlier today.

Translated, the first paragraph reads: “Last night, after praying and considering it a lot, thinking about my children and in the future, I made one of the most difficult but sensible decisions I have had to make in my professional wrestling career; I have asked for my WWE release.”

Sin Cara is the latest in a long line of WWE stars who have publicly stated that they want to be released from the company including Mike Kanellis, Luke Harper, and even Rusev and Lana. It comes at a time when AEW is just rebuilding following an impressive outing at Full Gear and just after Sin Cara’s feud with Andrade had come to an end.

Andrade will wrestle on Monday Night Raw tonight against Cedric Alexander, which means his feud with Sin Cara is officially over. In recent weeks, NXT star Catalina has been teaming with Cara to help him neutralize the threat of Zelina Vega, but recent reports suggested that she had returned to NXT since the storyline came to a close.

This could be the main reason why Sin Cara has asked for his release if he was told that the company now has nothing for him in the near future.

The former Champion has been contracted to WWE since 2009 and has become a popular star with the WWE Universe, at one point WWE even changed the superstar who was under the mask, so it will be interesting to see if they grant him his release after his public request.
