The Bludgeon Brothers were forced to drop their Tag Team Championships to The New Day following SummerSlam after it was revealed that Erick Rowan had suffered a torn bicep and would be on the shelf for up to eight months.

Harper and Rowan were not given a rematch, which is why SmackDown General Manager Paige then announced another Tag Team Tournament that culminated this past week on SmackDown Live as Rusev Day took on The Bar.

It was another fantastic match from two of WWE’s top tag team talents but after Aiden English sacrificed himself to a Brogue Kick to save Rusev, The Bulgarian Brute hit the Machka Kick to win the match and secure his team’s place in the Tag Team Championship match against The New Day at Hell In A Cell.
