SmackDown Tag Team Titles To Be Defended In A Triple Threat Match At TLC

WWE has announced that the current SmackDown Tag Team titleholders, The Bar, will be defending their championship in a Triple Threat Match during the TLC pay-per-view on December 16.

Sheamus and Cesaro will be defending their Tag Team Championships against not one but two of their strongest opponents, The New Day and The Usos.

All three of the teams involved in the Triple Threat match have been tangling with one another in the past month. All three also have the distinction of being five-time tag team champions.

The Bar have held the tag team championships five times, four on Raw, though their current run is the first time they’ve held the titles on SmackDown.

The New Day have had two reigns as Raw Tag Team Champions. Their second reign on Raw lasted 483 days and is the longest tag team title reign in WWE history. They have had three reigns as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

The Uso’s are the first tag team to have won both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team championships. They have had three title reigns on SmackDown and two on Raw. Their last run with the SmackDown tag team titles was back in September 2017 when they lost the titles at WrestleMania 34 to The Bludgeon Brothers.
